There are state programs available for children to ski FREE! We’ve compiled a listing here for your convenience. We want to help make your family experience the best it can be so you can keep enjoying time with your family for years to come.
Ski NY offers 3rd-grade and 4th-grade passports for free skiing and snowboarding, as well as a “learn to ski & snowboard” program. Kids can ski free with a paying adult (3 times per ski area) or learn to ski or snowboard for free (one timer per ski area) for $31. Some resorts blackout dates will apply for the learn to ski/snowboard program only - see iskiny.com for participating resorts and details.
Participating Resorts*
The Pennsylvania Ski Area Association offers a 4th-grade and 5th-grade snowpass for free skiing and snowboarding in Pennsylvania. This pass offers 3 FREE lift tickets at each of the 21 participating resorts when accompanied by a paying adult, as well as one free learn to ski or snowboard package. The snowpass also includes one adult 50% off learn to ski or snowboard package for the accompanying adult in case they have never skied or snowboarded. Ski Vermont offers fifth graders a passport which includes three days of free skiing and snowboarding at participating alpine resorts, and up to three days of free skiing at participating cross country areas. There is a $20 processing fee for each passport and proceeds go to the Working Lands Enterprise Initiative and Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. For more information and to order a passport visit

Colorado Ski Country offers a 5th grade passport for 3 free skiing and snowboarding at 22 participating resorts. 6th graders get 4 days each at 22 resorts (see website for cost based on when you apply). For more information visit www.ColoradoSki.Com/Passport

Ski Utah offers the 5th & 6th Grade Passport which provides skiing and snowboarding to all 5th & 6th grade students from anywhere in the world. 5th Graders can ski or ride 3 times at each of Utah’s 15 resorts, while 6th Graders ski or ride one time at each.
