The Volkl Yumi remains a great ski for the intermediate to advanced skier that is looking for stability on the groomers, and nice round medium radius turns. The Yumi has Tip Rocker that will ease your turn initiation, and absorb negative vibrations caused by bumps or crud, with camber underfoot to provide you with edge hold and rebound. The 83mm waist is easily manageable to manipulate into any turn shape you wish, but can power through light powder, bumps and crud with ease. Volkl's Multi-Layer Wood Core uses Poplar Wood in the extremities for a nice and consistently rounded flex, and a stronger Ash Wood underfoot to add extra screw retention. Vertical Sidewalls give you great edge hold on firm snow or ice, and increase the torsional strength when you really start moving fast. The Power/Tough Box Construction is the same that Volkl uses in their entire race ski line that gives you stability and edge hold. If you love stability and smoothness on the front side the Volkl Yumi is your ski.
SKI Magazine‘s 15-16 Ski of the Year, the Yumi is an all mountain freeride ski with a shape of 125-83-103. For female skiers who want to tackle the front and back side of the mountain on a light weight, yet stable ski that can handle anything - from bumps, to trees, to hard pack - the Yumi is an impressive new ride.
